The Beginning and the End is a huge historical encyclopedic work, written by Ibn Kathir Ismail bin Omar al-Dimashqi, who died in 774 AH, and the book is based on the beliefs of the Islamic religion.

It is a presentation of history from the beginning of creation to its end that begins with the beginning of the creation of the heavens, the earth and the angels to the creation of Adam, then it touches on the stories of the prophets briefly and then details the historical events since the resurrection of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, until the year 767 AH In a tab manner over the years. The year begins with his saying, then a year has entered.. Then he lists the historical events in it, then mentions the most prominent people who died in this year. As for the end part, it contains the signs of the hour until the day of reckoning in detail.

Ibn Katheer said about his book: “In this book, I mention in it, with God’s help and good success, what God Almighty has pleased with His might and power by mentioning the principle of creatures: who created the Throne, the Chair, the heavens, and the earths..., and the stories of the prophets..., Until the prophecy ends to the days of our Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him…… Then we mention what comes after that to our time, and we mention the temptations, epics, and the signs of the Hour. Then the Resurrection and the Resurrection and the horrors of the Resurrection.... And what was mentioned in that from the Book, the Sunnah, the antiquities, and the transmitted news that are reasonable to the scholars and the inheritors of the prophets..." The book was the right of the honest woman, and the original reference for the people of this art.
