ShortStories

ShortStories offers a platform to play text-based video games using the varied elements of the Android System UI:
• Notifications indicate situations in a narrative, posing a scenario during which a choice is required
• App Shortcuts provide a means of constructing a choice, and making a selection poses a model new scenario
• Dialogs present a means of viewing a listing of achievements, gained by exploring varied paths in a story
Unique colors, icons, vibration patterns and sounds exist for various kinds of situations, and are used to theme the Notifications. Emoji present a contextual icon for scenarios and selections.
Stories are outlined in XML. A primary construction of Story, Choice, Scenario, Achievement and Finish tags allows ShortStories to parse and play almost any type of text-based, multiple alternative recreation.
Available on Android 7.1 (Nougat MR1) and above. Ensure that your launcher supports App Shortcuts (tested and works with Pixel Launcher, Google Now Launcher, Nova Launcher and Action Launcher).
